16- Secret Sauce

1) How do I set myself apart from everyone else?

- There is only one Elliot Lopatukhin on this planet. Nobody else thinks the same way that I do. That means that all of my ideas will be original in some sense. Even if I have the same idea for a business opportunity, my strategy of attack for the business plan will be different than anybody else on the planet.

- I believe that I am a logical person. I like to evaluate everything that I do and ensure that it makes logical sense and can be achieved.

- I do not like to waste time. When I come up with a goal, I find the most efficient way to achieve this goal to make sure I am not spending any extra time doing so. This time can be spent doing other productive things.

- I have different strengths and weaknesses than everyone else. I know what I am good at, and I also know what I am bad at. If I am tasked with something that I understand is my weakness, I will often reach out to friends and family to help me solve my problem and complete my task.

- I have no fear when it comes to stepping outside my comfort zone. I enjoy a challenge and the rewarding feeling that comes when you step outside of your comfort zone and everything works out to your benefit. When this happens, I feel like I am growing as a person.

    I like how you organized your five strengths, it made your post easy to follow along with. It's good that you're aware of your strengths and weaknesses. This is a unique ability that not everyone has and will certainly help you succeed because you'll know when to ask for help. This coupled with your ability to step outside your comfort zone will make you a great entrepreneur. Also, I like your photo at the bottom :)

    I like how you focused on yourself for this assignment. I think you really broke down the things about you that set you apart. You did this assignment well, and I give huge props for the Szechuan photo.

My first economic opportunity is about keeping franchise restaurants open past conventional hours in college towns where students are more likely to stay out and eat late. I found this idea from witnessing college students eating trends. College students are much more likely to eat food later than the normal adult. The prototypical customer would be college students in towns such as Gainesville, Tallahassee, and any other large school party school in the United States. I believe that the opportunity would be relatively easy to exploit, as all the franchise managers would need to do is calculate the cost to employ people verses the potential profit margin. If the calculations come out profitable, it would be easy to exploit this opportunity. One regulatory opportunity would be to enforce stricter taxes on online purchases for websites such as Amazon.com. Currently there is no sales tax per state when ordering items online. 1.       I believe that the general theme of this book is that there are certain mindsets that you can adapt that will help aid you to success. Also, failure can be inevitable and should not hinder you from trying to succeed. 2.       This book was relevant to what we are learning in ENT 3003 because it explained the different ways that one may fail when they begin a new enterprise or business. This book explains how failure can help aid one to success and to not let failure discourage one from trying to create new businesses even if their first one does not end up successful. This enhances what we are learning because the main objective of this class is to create a business plan of our own and formulate a path to success for our own businesses.
